Yoga for Stress Management: A Yin and Yoga Nidra Workshop

Join us for a two-hour deeply relaxing Yin and Yoga Nidra workshop to counter any seasonal stress you may be experiencing. Yin Yoga is a restorative style of yoga that uses long-held, passive poses to nourish the connective tissues in the body, promoting greater physical flexibility, organ health and peace of mind.
The first hour will be spent in a soothing yin practice where poses will be held from 2-7 minutes to support ease, rest, and restoration. We will then move into an hour of Yoga Nidra, also known as ‘yogic sleep’, a deep relaxation practice that works directly on the energetic body inducing a state of wakeful calm and deep rest.
Students will participate in an iRest Yoga Nidra which has been shown to be effective for stress management and in treating PTSD, insomnia, depression, and anxiety.
All Experience Levels are welcome. Wear warm, comfortable layers and bring a pillow and blanket. Investment is $25 or by donation based on need.

About the instructor
Fedora is a Forrest, Yin and Yoga Nidra teacher who believes in the benefits of yoga for mental, emotional and physical health. She is a master level social worker and public policy professional with experience in child and family policy, trauma and mental health, and the social determinants of health. Fedora completed her 200 hour teacher training with Ana Forrest and her Level 1 iRest® Yoga Nidra training through the Integrative Restoration Institute.® She is currently completing a 300 hour training at Practice Yoga Austin with a focus on Yin yoga. Fedora draws upon her professional experience and yoga training to create a safe, compassionate, and empowering space for students to learn, heal and grow in their practice.
